City to begin construction on 108 Street Friday

Jun 16, 2021 | 2:39 PM

Crews will begin construction on 108 Street between 100 Avenue and the Bear Creek bridges on Friday, June 18.

The city says work will start north of the 108 Street and 100 Avenue intersection and then make its way north, working on both the north and southbound lanes.

Construction crews’ activities include asphalt milling and overlay, spot concrete work, catch basin and manhole repairs, partial storm lead replacements and thermo-plastic line painting.

Motorists can expect traffic to be moved to a single lane, alternating traffic. Drivers are reminded to drive with caution and obey all posted signage inside a construction zone.

According to the City of Grande Prairie, there will be minimal impact on pedestrian traffic at the intersections along 108 Street.

Construction is expected to be completed by mid-July.

More information on the project can be found at the City’s website.
