Grande Prairie resident among six charged following stolen vehicle investigation
Six people, including a Grande Prairie man, are facing charges after drugs, firearms and a stolen vehicle were discovered at a home in Whitefish Lake First Nation last month.
The discovery happened after High Prairie RCMP were alerted of a pickup truck which had been stolen from a home in the community on May 30 of this year.
After investigation, RCMP obtained a search warrant for another home in Whitefish Lake, which was searched on June 22 with the help of the High Prairie RCMP General Investigative Section (GIS), as well as officers from Red Earth Creek, McLennan, High Level and Slave Lake GIS.
The search of the home led to the seizure of the stolen pick-up truck, a rifle, a handgun, expandable baton, a quantity of ammunition and a quantity of cocaine and methamphetamine.
