Richard Joseph Pelletier, resident of Eaglesham, AB, passed away Saturday, June 19, 2021, at Grey Nuns Hospital in Edmonton, AB, at the age of 77 years.
Richard was born May 4, 1944, on the family farm in Tangent, AB, to Andre and Annie Pelletier. He was the third child of six. Richard attended school at the Tangent Convent with his two older sisters. At the age of 18, he began working on the oil rigs for several years; but his heart always led him back to the family farm in Tangent. With his love for animals, Richard purchased cattle and land which he continued to farm until the age of 65.
Richard’s love for family, music and dance fulfilled his life. His collection of songs was limitless. He was often approached to share his talent on stage but preferred to keep it low-key. His guitar playing, singing and dancing will be missed by all.
Richard will be sadly missed by his sisters Alice Mazurek, and Marguerite (Bob) Elder; brothers: Albert Pelletier (Donna Reiswig), Victor Pelletier, and Don (Michelle) Pelletier; as well as his aunt Lucille (Marty) Purcha, several nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Richard was predeceased by his parents Andre and Annie; nephews Jason Elder and Ed Elkjer; niece Sandra Mazurek; as well as brother in-law Stanley Mazurek.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at 2:00pm, at the St. Martyrs Canadien Church in Tangent, AB.
An Interment to follow at the St. Martyrs Canadien Cemetery.
Family and friends will meet at the Tangent Hall following the interment for a time or fellowship.
