New bridge construction underway in Maskwôtêh Park

The City of Grande Prairie says construction has started on a new pedestrian bridge in Maskwôtêh Park.
The bridge will be located east of the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital and will connect to the hospital grounds and surrounding trails when it is finished.
The bridge will be sturdy enough to support emergency vehicles event though is meant to be a pedestrian bridge.
The trails and playgrounds will stay open during construction, but pedestrians will be rerouted when some of the work is being done.
