Grande Prairie native Garin Bjorklund has been invited to take part in Hockey Canada’s National Junior Team summer development camp.
Bjorklund was named one of five goaltenders invited to take part. Sixteen defencemen and 30 forwards were also invited.
The 19-year-old goaltender is currently a member of the Medicine Hat Tigers and is a 2020 sixth-round draft pick of the Washington Capitals.
In 2020-21 he split time between the Grande Prairie Storm and the Tigers. He posted a .936 save percentage in four games with the Storm and a .921 save percentage in 18 games with the Tigers during the Edmonton WHL bubble.
