Jul 29, 2021 | 5:13 PM

Members of the County of Grande Prairie Regional Fire Services along with members from the Wembley Fire Department are on the scene of a wildland fire south of Dimsdale, near Range Road 72 and Township Road 704.

Crews arrived on scene and saw an approximately one-hectare fire being driven by the wind into the nearby trees.

Fire crews are asking the public to avoid the area and give the right of way to emergency vehicles as they travel to the scene. An aircraft from Agriculture and Forestry has been deployed and is flying into the area to assist crews.

Because of the quick action from crews, no structures are currently threatened and no injuries have been reported.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
