Eight new COVID-19 cases reported in Grande Prairie

Eight new COVID-19 cases were recorded in the City of Grande Prairie for Tuesday, August 3, bringing the number of active cases in the city up to 92.

Two more active cases were added in the County of Grande Prairie on Tuesday, bringing the total there up to 13.

In Alberta, 206 new cases were detected on Tuesday following the completion of 5,429 tests. There are now 2,282 active cases of the disease in the province as of August 3.

Updated active case totals among Peace Region municipalities as of the end of day August 3 are as follows:

  • City of Grande Prairie: 92 active
  • County of Grande Prairie: 13 active
  • MD of Greenview: three active
  • MD of Spirit River: three active
  • MD of Peace: four active
  • MD of Fairview: three active
  • Big Lakes County: four active
  • Clear Hills County: one active
  • County of Northern Lights: one active
  • Mackenzie County: two active

Hospitalizations across Alberta for COVID-19 increased by seven over the last 24 hours to 9, with 23 of those individuals in an ICU. In the North Zone, hospitalizations increased by one to eight, with one of those eight people in an ICU.

No new deaths from COVID-19 were reported to Alberta Health over the last 24 hours. A total of 2,328 Albertans have died from COVID-19.

In Grande Prairie, nearly 30,000 people have received two doses of a vaccine, meaning 48.2 per cent of eligible residents are fully vaccinated, or 40 per cent of the entire population.
