Grande Prairie under severe thunderstorm watch Thursday

The Grande Prairie area has been placed under a severe thunderstorm watch Thursday by Environment Canada.
The weather office says conditions are favourable for severe thunderstorms to develop which could bring with them strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.
Storms are expected to develop along the northern Foothills late this afternoon, and move northeast into the evening.
Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms which could produce one or more of the following: Large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
