Heat warning issued for Grande Prairie area
Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the Grande Prairie-Beaverlodge-Valleyview forecast area.
The warning comes as the weather office says daytime highs around 30 degrees combined with overnight lows of 14 degrees are expected over the weekend before cooler temperatures are expected to move over the province Monday.
The heat warning is also in effect for the Peace River- Fairview-High Prairie-Manning forecast area.
The public is reminded to take precautions to protect themselves and others from the heat, like rescheduling outdoor activities to cooler hours of the day and taking frequent breaks from the heat.
