March 24, 1990 – August 25th, 2021
It is with broken hearts, we announce the passing of Brody Matthew Wendt on August 25th, 2021 at the age of 31.
Brody will be forever remembered by his parents Bryan and Pauline, his sister Darcee (Justin), niece Ariya and nephews Sawyer and Leo, his Grandma Grace, and his Grandpa Don, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He will be greeted by his Great Grampsies Fred, Grandma Pat, Grandpa Bob, Grandpa Walter, Uncle Morgan, cousins Jamie and Gloria, and many friends.
Brody was a one of a kind person with a true heart of gold. He was beyond talented at everything he did and had a creative passion for music, art, and writing. He loved playing all kinds of sports with his many friends, but more important than the sport itself he enjoyed just being with them. He felt most at ease when he was in the outdoors connecting with nature. Many will remember him for his big smile and love for people. Whether it was his family, friends or anyone he met from all walks of life, he cared and felt deeply. Had you known him for a short or long time, he was the kind of person who leaves a lasting impression. He had a beautiful old soul with a unique perspective on life and understanding far beyond his age. He will be incredibly missed by so many.
True to Brody’s giving nature, he was able to fulfill his wish of being an organ donor by giving his heart, lungs, and both kidneys. We know in our hearts how proud he would be of his ability to change the lives of these four people and all their loved ones.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday September 4th at 4:00pm at the Muskoseepi Park Amphitheater in Grande Prairie, Alberta. There will be some chairs available, and we encourage you to bring a blanket or your own chair and gather anywhere along the grass. All are welcome to attend. Come as you are. A live stream will be available for any who cannot attend in person. Please see link below.
Our family asks that if you come to approach us after the service please wear a mask as we have some very immune compromised family members. Masks will be provided. Thank you.
In lieu of a reception or flowers, our family has decided to donate to the Grande Prairie Friendship Center, St. Lawrence Centre, and the Salvation Army Food Bank. We feel strongly that Brody would want us to feed people who need it, in acknowledgment of all dear ones who struggle. We encourage everyone who can to do the same.
