A winning $250,000 lottery ticket was sold in Grande Prairie this past August.

The Western Canada Lottery Corporation says Tracy Kane won $250,000 after the EXTRA she added to her WESTERN MAX ticket won the game’s top prize during the August 3 draw.

Kane is from Haines Junction, Yukon and was in Grande Prairie when she purchased the ticket from the Giant Tiger located at 112-11030 100 Street.

Kane’s ticket matched all seven digits of the winning EXTRA number for the August 3 draw – 6842074.

In a release, Kane says she was shocked to win the prize and claimed the prize a week after she purchased the ticket. She adds she and her husband have plans to spend the money on building a new home.
