Storm fall to Wolverines to kick off exhibition road swing

A hat trick from Wolverines forward Tyler Mahan was the ultimate back breaker for the Grande Prairie Storm, as they fell to their Highway 43 rivals in Whitecourt 6-4 Thursday in AJHL exhibition action.

The Storm were paced by newcomer Alex Bernauer, who had a pair of goals in the loss. Kaden Skulmoski and Hudson Foley also potted goals for the Storm.

Goaltender Jonathan Labrie picked up the loss, stopping 39 of the 44 shots he faced.

The Storm now fall to 1-2 on the preseason, which will come to a close this weekend in Fort McMurray with a doubleheader against the Oil Barons on Friday and Saturday. Those games can be streamed on HockeyTV.
