Budget 2022

City of Grande Prairie rolling out in-person community engagement, Budget 2022

Sep 10, 2021 | 1:55 PM

The City of Grande Prairie is rolling into the next phase of Budget 2022 community engagement, which will include in-person budget engagement sessions on September 22 and 23.

This is set as an extension of the online engagement tools, in efforts for residents in the community to learn more and provide feedback on the upcoming budget as well as learn about services in the city through interactive stations.

City officials say both sessions, which are free and open for residents of any age, will be the same, so residents can choose the one that best suits their schedule.

City administration will also be available to provide more information and answer questions.

Details for the sessions include:

  • September 22 at the Coca-Cola Centre in the KMSC Law Room from 4:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m.
  • September 23 at Montrose Cultural Centre in Teresa Sargent Hall from 6:00 p.m. – 9 p.m.

The city says residents can share their thoughts and ideas on where people would like to see the city prioritize the investment of tax dollars in the 2022 Budget.

This can include services valued most at the city, suggestions on how the city could balance and operate fiscal responsibility while providing quality services, as well as what you think council should prioritize for their COVID-19 response.

The online engagement, which has been reopened, includes a 10-15 minute survey, a tool to learn how the city operating budget is allocated and submit your own balanced city budget, a space to share answers and brainstorm questions, and a Q&A space to ask administration questions with live responses.

Up until September 30, residents can provide feedback on the online engagement, which can be found here.
