In Loving Memory of Jed Sunderman
July 16, 1932 – September 12, 2021
It is with heavy hearts that Florence along with her daughters Denise, Linda and Debbie announce the passing of Gerald (Jed) Sunderman, Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather, on Sunday September 12, 2021 at the age of 89 years in Grande Prairie, Alberta.
In his younger years after he left the family farm in Fork Lake, AB he worked up north with his twin brother Jim on the barges on Great Bear Lake. He then moved onto bridge building and eventually into power line construction for his cousin, Bev, where he loved to say “I started at the top” ie; digging holes for power poles. He met his wife Florence at Pearson’s Café in Hythe where she waitressed, which he frequented while power line building. Working many years as an electrician he retired in 1992 when they moved to the Okanagan. Jed loved to play his guitar and spent many evenings playing with friends and family.
Jed is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Florence, 3 daughters, Denise Sunderman, Linda Tremblay, and Debbie (Tom) Airth. Also, by 4 Grandchildren Andrew (Jess) Airth, Cody (Kailey) Tremblay, Danica (Shane) Tremblay-Chilson, and Tyler (Steph) Airth, 7 Great Grandchildren, Haylee, Jensen, Jack, and Henry Airth, Joe, Freya and Gage Tremblay. Brothers Lyle (Marion), Bud and Sister-In-Law Frances Sunderman, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Jed was predeceased by his parents John and Alice Sunderman, brother Sid, and twin brother Jim, as well as Son-In-Law Mike Tremblay.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday September 18 th, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bear Creek Funeral Home in Grande Prairie. Time of fellowship to follow. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a donation to a charity of your choice.
