Ten impaired drivers taken off Grande Prairie roads over long weekend
A Thanksgiving long weekend enforcement initiative resulted in the Grande Prairie RCMP removing 10 impaired drivers from city roads.
Between October 8 and 9 police conducted their initiative throughout the city. Of the Immediate Roadside Sanctions handed out, four were FAIL suspensions (blood alcohol level of 0.08 or higher), four were WARN suspensions (blood alcohol level of 0.05-0.079) and two were among drivers with a Graduated Drivers License, which comes with a zero alcohol tolerance condition.
RCMP are also thanking the members of the public who reported one of the impaired drivers, as they were reportedly driving erratically.
“Grande Prairie would like to thank the public for reporting any criminal or suspicious activity to police,” they add in a release.
