Alberta announces new protection measures for continuing care facilities
The Alberta government has announced that starting on October 25, there will be some new protective measures coming into place at continuing care facilities across the province.
As of next Monday, masking will be required for all visitors at continuing care facilities at all times, regardless of their vaccination status. This includes while visiting a resident’s room.
With this policy coming into place, health officials strongly encourage unvaccinated family members and friends to not visit residents at this time. Facility operators are able to implement additional rules if they choose, such as requiring proof of vaccination.
“Protecting vulnerable Albertans is always our top priority,” stated Premier Jason Kenney.
