Grande Prairie adds six new COVID-19 cases, three recoveries

The City of Grande Prairie added six new cases of COVID-19 and three recoveries for Monday, October 25, bringing the active case total in the city up to 200.

In the County of Grande Prairie, there were no new cases or recoveries over the last 24 hours, leaving that region with 108 active cases.

As a whole, Alberta added 442 new cases following the completion of approximately 7,700 tests on Monday, resulting in a 0.6 per cent positivity rate.

Active case totals, as of October 25 among Peace Region municipalities, are as follows:

  • City of Grande Prairie: 200 active (+3)
  • County of Grande Prairie: 108 active (-)
  • MD of Greenview: 23 active (-3)
  • Birch Hills County: six active (-)
  • MD of Spirit River: 13 active (-)
  • Saddle Hills County: 16 active (+1)
  • MD of Peace: 66 active (+1)
  • MD of Fairview: 16 active (-)
  • MD of Smoky River: nine active (-)
  • Big Lakes County: 115 active (+2)
  • Clear Hills County: five active (-)
  • County of Northern Lights: 11 active (-2)

Across the province, hospitalizations increased by 15 to 836, while the number of ICU patients went up by one to 183.

Of those admitted to intensive care with COVID-19, 149 are unvaccinated, 12 are partially vaccinated, and 22 are fully vaccinated.

In the North Zone, there are 117 people in the hospital (up two), while 10 people are in the ICU (down one).

There were 12 deaths from COVID-19 reported to Alberta Health over the last 24 hours, bringing the provincial death toll to 3,063.

In Grande Prairie, 71.5 per cent of people who are eligible have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine (59.3 per cent of the total population), while 62.8 per cent of the eligible population has been fully vaccinated (52.1 per cent of the total population).

In Alberta, 86.7 per cent of eligible Albertans aged 12 and older have received at least one dose of the vaccine, while 79.2 per cent of those eligible are fully vaccinated.
