Family Violence Prevention Month marked in Grande Prairie with series of events
November marks Family Violence Prevention Month in Grande Prairie and the rest of Alberta, and IMPACT Grande Prairie hopes to create more awareness and education on domestic and sexual assault through a series of events.
IMPACT is a collective service provider committed to eradicating domestic and sexual violence in Grande Prairie by supporting the advocacy around education and creating a social change towards sexual and domestic violence in the community.
Odyssey House Executive Director and IMPACT leadership team member Lisa Watson hopes that creating awareness throughout the month helps individuals struggling with domestic or sexual violence to reach out for help.
“It helps create awareness of the resources and supports available to individuals that might be experiencing domestic and sexual violence as well family violence.”
