RCMP seeking to identify individual who placed noose at MLA Allard’s house

Nov 5, 2021 | 8:29 AM

The Grande Prairie RCMP is asking for the public’s help in identifying the person or persons who placed a noose in the front of MLA Tracy Allard’s house on October 31.

The noose was left on Allard’s lawn when 15-20 protesters demonstrated outside of the Grande Prairie MLA’s home.

Mounties say they were called to the protest near Allard’s home at 2:50 p.m. They say officers did request the displayed noose be removed and a protestor did remove it without incident.

They add they investigated who may have brought the display, but were unable to identify the party responsible who brought it.

No charges have so far been laid.

The RCMP is requesting anyone who was an eyewitness to the incident or has video footage to contact them. The information could potentially be used as evidence in the investigation.

Allard said in a Facebook post on November 1 that while she respects citizens’ right to protest, she urges those choosing to demonstrate to leave her family and private life alone.
