Grande Prairie records two new COVID-19 cases, eight recoveries

The City of Grande Prairie added two new cases of COVID-19 and eight recoveries for Monday, November 22, bringing the active case total in the Swan City down to 133.

In the County of Grande Prairie, there were five new cases and five recoveries Monday, keeping the active case total there at 84.

As a whole, Alberta added 253 new cases on Monday, following completion of 5,311 tests. Those tests resulted in a ~4.8 per cent positivity rate.

Active case totals, as of November 22 among Peace Region municipalities, are as follows:

  • MD of Spirit River: three active (-)
  • Saddle Hills County: four active (-1)

  • Big Lakes County: 22 active (-1)
  • Clear Hills County: zero active (-)

Across the province, hospitalizations increased by 12 to 475, with 94 of those patients in the ICU, a decrease of four from the day prior.

Of those in intensive care, 76 are unvaccinated and 13 are fully vaccinated.

In the North Zone, 62 people are in hospital (down two), while seven people are in the ICU (down two).

There were 10 deaths reported to Alberta Health over the last 24 hours, bringing the provincial death toll to 3,227.

In Grande Prairie, 73.6 per cent of people who are eligible have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine (61.1 per cent of the total population), while 67.9 per cent of the eligible population has been fully vaccinated (56.3 per cent of the total population).

In Alberta, 88.4 per cent of eligible Albertans aged 12 and older have received at least one dose of the vaccine, while 83.3 per cent of those eligible are fully vaccinated.
