“Failed Liberal vision”: Warkentin responds to Speech from Throne

Nov 24, 2021 | 5:12 PM

Grande Prairie- Mackenzie MP Chris Warkentin has responded to the Speech from the Throne, a speech meant to outline the Liberal Government’s priorities for the upcoming parliament.

Warkentin says one problem is a lack of discussion on the cost of living.

“Justin Trudeau’s political priorities announced yesterday do nothing for Canadians worried about the cost of living crisis that is driving up the price of gas, food, and everyday essentials,” said Warkentin.

“The reality is that life is getting more expensive for Canadians.” In a release, Warkentin described Trudeau’s approach as more deficits, leading to higher taxes for Canadians. “at a time when Canadians are barely making ends meet.”

“Rather than focus on employment and investment to kick start our recovery and strengthen our economy, this Liberal government is focused on furthering its own ideological agenda.”

Warkentin describes the Liberal’s priorities from the Speech from the Throne as a ‘failed Liberal vision.’

“The Liberals have presented a plan in this speech that is essentially a carbon copy of the Liberal platform, failing to learn from any lessons from this past election,” he added.

“For Canadians and especially those living in the Peace Country, the Liberal government continues to attack the Alberta energy sector and make life more difficult for our local farmers.”

Warkentin says he is continuing to fight for Peace Country residents in an effort to build a better future for the region.
