Rinks skipped by Scott Webb and Evan van Amsterdam have advanced to men’s curling provincials after a qualifier over the weekend at the Grande Prairie Curling Centre.

Webb beat Warren Cross 9-8 in an extra end in Saturday’s “A” Event final.

Cross then lost to 9-2 in seven ends to van Amsterdam in the final of the “B” Event Sunday afternoon.

Webb and van Amsterdam will be among the rinks competing at provincials from January 3 to 9 in Grande Prairie.

Team Skrlik, which includes Nampa-raised sisters Kayla and Ashton Skrlik, will be at the women’s provincials taking place at the same time as the men’s in Grande Prairie.

They beat Vulcan’s Lindsay Bertsch 8-4 to advance at a qualifier played in Vulcan.

Skrlik advanced out of the B Event after losing the A event final 9-3 in seven ends to Edmonton’s Elysa Crough.
