Grande Prairie adds 30 new COVID-19 cases, Alberta records record 4,869 cases
The City of Grande Prairie recorded 30 new COVID-19 cases along with five recoveries for January 5, bringing the total number of active cases in the Swan City to 160 (up 25).
The County of Grande Prairie added 11 new cases and three recoveries over the past 24 hours. It now has 92 active cases (up eight).
Alberta broke its daily COVID-19 record for the second straight day on Wednesday. The province is reporting 4,869 new cases, up from 4,752 new cases recorded the previous day.
There 4,869 new cases were found on 12,318 tests completed, resulting in a 39.5 per cent test positivity rate. There are now 39,897 active cases in the province.
