The Alberta Junior Hockey League has named Storm forward Ethan Strang its first AJHL Player of the Week for 2022.

Strang recorded five goals and four assists as the Storm opened the new year with a 3-1 record on a four-game road swing in southern Alberta.

That included a three-point game in a 5-3 win in Drumheller and a four-point effort in a 6-2 win in Olds. Strang had a hat trick and the game-winning goal in that last game.

Strang is second on the Storm with 42 points, including 25 goals, so far this season. He also ranks in the top 20 in league scoring.

The Storm’s next game is at home Sunday against Lloydminster to start a stretch of five games in seven days.

Faceoff on Sunday will be at 2 p.m.
