Extreme cold warnings ended for Peace Region

UPDATE: The extreme cold warning issued for the Peace Region has ended. Over the next week temperatures throughout the area are expected to reach highs above freezing.

Environment Canada has issued extreme cold warnings for the Peace Country and the rest of northern Alberta.

Places like Lloydminster, Red Deer, and Drumheller are also under extreme cold warnings.

The weather office says the wind chill could reach close to -40 overnight but should moderate by Wednesday afternoon.

Environment Canada adds it is a good idea to dress in layers with the outer layer wind-resistant, adding “if it is too cold for humans to be outside, it is also too cold for pets to be outside.”
