Shelter in place lifted, man arrested, after firearm incident in Peace River

UPDATE: RCMP have arrested a man after an incident in Peace River Thursday.

A shelter in place has been lifted.

Mounties say they were called out at around 2:45 p.m. to a home near 103 Street and 110 Avenue in Peace River after a report of a firearm being pointed at two people.

They left the area after this happened and no one was injured.

Police add charges are pending and the investigation continues.

The name of the man arrested was not released.

Peace Regional RCMP say there is a heavy police presence in the area of 103 Street and 110 Avenue in Peace River.

Mounties are asking people in that part of Peace River to shelter in place. People are also being asked to not share pictures or videos on social media.

RCMP say they were called to an incident but did not provide any details on what happened.

No further updates will be made until the situation has been resolved.
