Feb 7, 2022 | 12:24 PM

UPDATE: Environment Canada has ended the wind warning for the Grande Prairie-Beaverlodge-Valleyview forecast area and the Peace River-Fairview-High Prairie-Manning forecast area. There is still one in place for the Slave Lake forecast area.

The wind warning issued on Saturday night still remains in effect for a majority of the Peace Region.

This includes the Grande Prairie-Beaverlodge-Valleyview forecast area.

Environment Canada says winds gusts as high as 90 km/hr are expected to develop throughout the afternoon. It adds the wind will persist through the afternoon before moderating later tonight.

Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. Motorists are asked to adjust their driving with changing road conditions due to high winds.

Environment Canada is also predicting a 30 per cent chance of a rain & snow mix for Monday afternoon and a 60 per cent chance of a rain & snow mix overnight.
