One arrest after assault, arson at Charlie Lake home

Fort St. John RCMP say one person has been arrested after armed intruders assaulted someone at a Charlie Lake home and set the residence on fire.

Mounties say they got a report just after 9 p.m. on Wednesday, February 9.

When Mounties and the fire department got to the scene, the home was fully engulfed in flames.

Police say the suspects allegedly stole the victim’s pickup before leaving the scene.

Authorities later located the vehicle the suspects had arrived in and reportedly made the one arrest.

The name of the person charged has not been released and there is no word on the condition of the victim or the home.

The investigation continues.
