Rotary Dream Home lottery first early bird prize deadline Feb. 15

With the annual Rotary Dream Home Lottery first early bird draw deadline approaching Tuesday at midnight, organizers say ticket sales are slightly behind this year compared to years previous.

Raffle Manager Melissa Coulombe says roughly 45 per cent of all ticket sales have been sold as of February 15.

“Typically, in years past at this point we are over half sold, so we are a little bit behind on ticket sales and the peace region has always been great behind the dream home and showing their support of it,” she explained.

“It helps so many great organizations and groups within our region, so we’re hoping and confident that that’ll happen again this year and our supporters will continue to get out and get their tickets.”

Anyone who purchases their tickers before February 15 at midnight will be entered for a chance to win a trip for two to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

The final deadline for the Dream Home Lottery is April 24, 2022.

She says last year, they came close to selling out Dream Home tickets and is hoping they can sell out this year.

“We were at 98 per cent, so just shy of a sellout, we would love to get there this year for sure.”

She explains there are three different ways to get tickets, including online or by calling 780-513-8887

Tickets are also available at the dream home Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Monday and Tuesday from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.

She says the 2022 dream home is also available for viewing.

“Last year we were not able to open to the public at all during the lottery season and this year we have been open since New Year’s Eve and we have seen a great outpour of community support of people coming back to support.”

Organizations benefiting from the fundraiser include Dansconnection Parent Group, Canadian Parents for French, Grande Prairie Public School Division Education Foundation, Gladiators Martial Arts Academy, Ecole St. Gerard Playground Fundraising Society, Grande Prairie Skating Club, Grande Prairie Wrestling Club, Nitehawk Alpine Ski Team. Big Brothers Big Sisters, Sexsmith Tumbling Club. Catholic Family Services, PARDS, Grande Prairie Piranhas Swim Club, Clairmont & District Ag Society, Sexsmith & District Museum Society, and Seniors Outreach. The final deadline for dream home tickets is April 24, 2022.

The Dream Home comprises of three lotteries, the home, a 50-50 draw with a real-time live counter online, and the Cash Cow Calendar.
