Wanham’s Quinn Pelland helped make history for Mount Royal Universities women’s volleyball team this weekend, as she helped lead the Cougars to the first-ever national medal in the sport.

Pelland and the Cougars picked up a silver medal in the U-Sports national women’s volleyball in Calgary this past weekend.

They ended up losing in the championship game to the Trinity Western Spartans 3-1.

While her team fell up short in the championship game, Pelland in an interview with MRU said she’s proud of how her team performed.

“We are so proud of ourselves today, we made program history,” said Pelland. “Trinity is a fantastic opponent on the other side and it was great volleyball.”

Pelland is in her fourth year with the Cougars. Earlier this year, she was named a First-Team All-Star in Canada West.
