City recruiting community members for Coordinated Care Campus Advisory Committee

Apr 1, 2022 | 6:00 AM

The City of Grande Prairie is currently looking for community members to join the new Coordinated Care Campus Advisory Committee.

Wendy Hughes, the city’s Senior Executive Advisor, Protective & Social Services says the committee will provide direct feedback related to the ongoing planning of the Coordinated Care Campus and related programming.

“It will also allow for further positive engagement and participation in formulating how we can provide education and accurate information to the community as well as focus on best practices,” she explained.

She adds the committee will serve a crucial role in helping benefit and contribute to the successful integration of program users.

“Our main goal is to help build a stronger, connected, and supported community.”

Hughes explains the advisory committee will consist of seven public member positions, all of which are volunteer-based.

“With these committee members, we are seeking a variety of different perspectives to help formulate how we are going to engage the community further with correct information, and that is our main goal.”

These positions include:

  • Four community members/ business owners.
  • One member from the Community Advisory Board on Housing and Homelessness.
  • One Indigenous representative.
  • One member from the health care field.

Two members from city administration will also sit on the committee. The city says there is potential for more members to be added based on qualifications and expertise on an ad-hoc basis.

Applications are open from now until April 29. A link to apply for the Coordinated Care Campus Committee Advisory Committee can be found here.

“The committee members will be chosen by council committee and then recommendations will be forwarded to city administration and we will notify those applicants,” said Hughes.
