Kim Randall appointed as next Evergreen Park GM

Apr 14, 2022 | 1:57 PM

Evergreen Park announced on Tuesday at its Annual General Meeting that Kim Randall has been selected to replace current General Manager Dan Gorman when he retires at the end of 2022.

Randall will serve as the Associate General Manager of Evergreen Park until Gorman retires.

Currently, Randall is serving as the GM of a Best Western resort in Calgary.

While she currently works in the hotel industry, Randall tells EverythingGP she has plenty of experience working in Evergreen Park type settings.

“I have worked at Spruce Medows (equestrian facility in Calgary), which is another horse facility that also has public attractions. I was the exhibit manager, so I looked after all the exhibit programs, I put together the Christmas market and did a lot of entertainment (work),” she explained.

“That background really ties into the Evergreen Park General Manager.”

Randall says the Spruce Medows job was one of her favourite jobs she’s ever held.

She added that while she lives in Calgary, she’s no stranger to living in rural areas throughout Alberta.

“My background is a farm girl. I grew up in central Alberta, my mom and dad had a resort at Pine Lake and I went to Delburne for small-town school. Being up in the country is right in my wheelhouse.”

While it is early and she’s yet to officially start the job, Randall explains she’s excited about the opportunity to grow Evergreen Park.

“We’re looking at capital planning for the next five years, so that’s probably going to be our most exciting job over the near future,’ she said.

“Dan is going to be very involved in that, so it’s really nice to have that overlap between him and me to have a smooth transition and a similar vision moving forward.”

Randall also has a sister and son who both live in Grande Prairie. She mentioned she’s been to Evergreen Park many times while visiting.

She will start her new role in May.
