RCMP say weekend fire in Little Buffalo was deliberately set

May 18, 2022 | 12:27 PM

Peace Regional RCMP are investigating a fire that occurred Sunday morning in Little Buffalo.

Mounties say they, along with the fire department, were called to a log home and adjacent trailer being fully engulfed in flames at around 6 am Sunday morning.

An investigation revealed that an accelerant was used to start the blaze.

Nearby surveillance showed a dark coloured Chevrolet Silverado extended cab approach the homes just prior to the start of the fire, before fleeing the scene.

Nobody was in either building at the time of the fire and no one was injured.

Anyone with info on the suspect truck is asked to call the Peace Regional detachment at (780)624-6677 or CrimeStoppers.
