Road Closures

Range Road 53 road closures

Expect road closures today on sections of Range Road 53 at Township Road 714.

The construction is to remove the old intersection and replace it with a traffic circle.

The work will be divided into two phases, with each phase taking about three weeks, pending the weather.

Phase one includes closing Range Road 53 from Township Road 714 to Township Road 712, it will remain open for local traffic only and other traffic will have to detour.

In phase two, Range Road 53 will be closed from Township 714 to Highway 670, remaining open to local traffic only.

The County of Grande Prairie anticipates both phases of the project will be done by mid-July, pending the weather of course. They are also investing $53 million in new capital roads and bridge projects this year.
