New contractor picked for Grande Prairie Regional Hospital

Nov 1, 2018 | 10:41 AM

Work could soon start up again at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital.

Construction has been on hold since September when the province announced it had fired Graham Construction.

Graham said it did not get fired but left on its own because the hospital could not be completed as designed for the money that was available. It also said it would be seeking damages.

A spokesperson for Alberta Infrastructure released a statement:

“Our government is building an economy that works for everyone and that means making sure our loved ones get the health care they need. Alberta Infrastructure has selected a new general contractor for the project and are currently finalizing contractual details. Until the contract is signed, we are not in a position to disclose the successful bidder. We remain committed to the timely completion of the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital and will have more details to share in the coming weeks”
