Old Highway 43 bypass construction extends to 132 Avenue

Jul 16, 2022 | 7:00 AM

On Saturday, July 16, the City of Grande Prairie will extend the construction zone on 100 Street across from the Prairie Mall.

This is part of an ongoing project to upgrade the old bypass.

Construction will be taking place between 132 Avenue and 116 Avenue.

The northbound lane will feature two-lane traffic on 100 Street between 128 Avenue and 116 Avenue.

The inner turning lane on 116 Avenue Eastbound to 100 Street will be closed along with periodic closures of the intersection on 124 Avenue and 100 Street will happen as construction continues.

The City inherited the old Highway 43 bypass in 2019 when Alberta Transportation offered $20 million in exchange.
