Jim passed away peacefully on July 13, 2022 at the age of 70.
Jim was born in Calgary on August 9, 1951 to Lesley and Marguerite Wright and he attended school in Calgary, Edmonton and finally finished high school in Grande Prairie. He went to NAIT where he graduated as a draftsman. He worked as a draftsman and then went back to school to take Education at the University of Alberta. He was then employed by NAIT and taught drafting until 1983 when he suffered an aneurysm.
Jim travelled to Ottawa after high school with the Young Canadian Youth Exchange where he met Pierre Trudeau who was Prime Minister at that time; then off to Europe and finally to England with his parents. Jim volunteered for 35 years with different organizations; 10 years with the Hospital, Red Cross, at bingos, casinos, street festivals, the brain injury group and at the hockey arena. He loved to both play and watch sports, especially hockey that was his favourite.
Jim also enjoyed gardening, hunting, baking, young people and having a cat in his life.
He was predeceased by his parents, Les and Marg Wright and his older brother, Michael Wright. He is survived by his sisters Pat (Garry) Roessler, Kathleen (Barry) Mykytuk, brother Paul Wright and numerous nephews and nieces.
The family wishes to thank the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital, Prairie Lake Hospice and all of the nurses and doctors that took such good care of him.

A Celebration of Jim’s life will be held at St. Joseph Church 10404 102 Street, Grande Prairie on Monday, July 25th at 2pm.
