RCMP stop attempted bank robbery in downtown Grande Prairie last week

On Wednesday, July 20, at around 2:00 p.m. a male suspect entered the Scotiabank in the downtown core, demanding a large sum of money and threatening people with explosives.
The Grande Prairie RCMP responded to the call with assistance from the GPCRU (Grande Prairie Crime Reduction Unit) and Grande Prairie Police Dog Services.
After an extensive search of the area, it was determined there were no explosives and RCMP arrested the suspect.
42-year-old Jeremy Winders of Grande Prairie was charged with one count of robbery.
