92 Street intersection improvements underway

Work on improving 92 Street near the Signature Falls and Riverstone South neighbourhoods started on Thursday.

Traffic signal repair and replacement, durable pavement marking, and geometric upgrades to ensure intersections are safe and meet the needs of our growing community are part of the City of Grande Prairie’s 2022 Intersection Improvements Program.

On 92 Street, the scope of construction includes:

• Adding a right turn lane for northbound traffic on 92 Street at 72 Avenue
• Adding a left turn lane for southbound traffic on 92 Street at 72 Avenue
• Adding a left turn lane for southbound traffic on 92 Street at 80 Avenue

Traffic will be maintained throughout construction and drivers are being reminded to watch for workers in all construction zones throughout the City.

Transit stop 247 is closed for the duration of construction and transit riders are being asked to reroute to a newly added temporary stop on 92 Street, south of 72 Avenue. The trail east of 92 Street will also be closed for the same period of time.
