Family Violence Prevention Month starts today

Every November is Family Violence Prevention Month.
Mayor Bill Given and County of Grande Prairie Deputy Reeve Ross Sutherland will read out proclamations at an event marking the beginning of the month at the Eastlink Centre this morning.
Family Violence Prevention Month started in Hinton in 1986.
The theme this year is Everyone has the Right to be Safe.
The province is encouraging people to take part in Go Purple events.
