No doctor in Beaverlodge ED for 24 hours starting Sunday morning

The Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital will be without physician coverage in the Emergency Department starting at 8:00 a.m. Sunday, August 14 to 8:00 a.m. Monday, August 15.

Alberta Health Services says they are ensuring residents they are working on giving them access to the care they need during the 24 hour outage of service.

Nurses will still be on-site in the health centre to provide triage and assessments, as well as direct patients to surrounding healthcare facilities.

EMS calls during the 24-hour time period will be rerouted to the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital and the Central Peace Health Complex in Spirit River.

Health Link can be called at 8-1-1, anytime for non-emergency health-related questions.

Physician coverage will resume in the ED on Monday, August 15 at 8:00 a.m.
