Beaverlodge RCMP responded to a shooting in Lymburn

On Sunday, August 21, Beaverlodge RCMP received a call about a shooting in the Lymburn area.

The investigation led them to find the suspect had blocked the roadway with cable and made the victim stop his car.

The suspect began discharging his firearm toward the victim’s car before they managed to flee the scene without any injuries.

Shortly after, RCMP located the suspect at a nearby residence and took them into custody.

62-year-old Ronald Pruss of Lymburn has been charged with:

  • Discharge of a firearm with intent.
  • Pointing a firearm.
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
  • Careless use of a firearm.
  • Mischief under $5000.

After a judicial hearing, Pruss was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in the Grande Prairie Provincial Court on Wednesday, August 24.
