New music therapy program at Whispering Ridge Community School

Students at Whispering Ridge Community School will have the chance to try out a new program aimed at using music to support mental health through body and emotional state awareness.
The school, which is located in north Grande Prairie and is part of the Peace Wapiti Public School District, is offering a 10-week music therapy program to their students.
The program will teach students how to first recognize signs of when they are feeling stressed, anxious or unsettled, and practice ways to regulate their emotions, so they can process all the feelings that are flooding their nervous system.
The program was made possible through a grant from the Canadian Music Therapy Trust Fund.
