Grande Prairie Piranhas swimmer Dominik Kwiecien is part of a 10-member Team Canada competing at an international event this weekend.

They are at the FINA World Junior Open Water Swimming Championships being hosted in Seychelles, an island country off Africa’s east coast.

Kwiecien finished 21 out of 36 competitors in the men’s 5km event.

Swimmers from the US, Italy, and Germany made up the top three.

Kwiecien will also compete in the Mixed 4 x 1500 event in the 14-16 age category on Saturday.
