Associate Minister promoting Alberta hydrogen in Japan
The Alberta government says Associate Minister of Natural Gas and Electricity Dale Nally will travel to Japan to promote the province as one of the world’s fastest-growing hydrogen energy regions.
The mission, which runs from Sept. 23 to Oct. 1, will include meeting with key Japanese stakeholders active in Alberta’s natural gas sector, participating in Japan’s Hydrogen Energy Ministerial Meeting, and touring the Fukushima Hydrogen Energy Research Field and the Town of Namie for hydrogen developments.
“Alberta is committed to being a global leader in hydrogen and liquefied natural gas. Japan was the first country to adopt a national hydrogen framework and the more we can learn from their proven success, the quicker we can accelerate clean energy development and solidify our position as a top destination for clean hydrogen,” said Dale Nally, Associate Minister of Natural Gas and Electricity, in a press release Thursday.
The government says Associate Minister Nally will be travelling with one staff member. Mission expenses will be posted on the travel and expense disclosure page.
