Two vehicle crash on the Peace River bridge leaves one person with serious injuries

UPDATE: RCMP say the bridge is now open in both directions and the collision has been cleared.

Peace River RCMP say three people were injured, one seriously, after a two-vehicle crash on the Highway 2 bridge over the Peace River.

Mounties say they got a call about the crash between two pick-ups at around 3:45 PM Sunday afternoon.

Police say one the drivers had serious injuries as a result of the crash.

The two people in the other vehicle had what police describe as minor injuries.

A collision analyst has been brought in and the investigation continues at the scene.

Traffic was being diverted earlier but there is now one lane alternating traffic on the bridge.

Mounties say drivers should expect delays.
