West Fraser makes another sizable financial commitment to STARS

Nov 9, 2022 | 1:42 PM

West Fraser has announced a two-year, $100,000 commitment to STARS Air Ambulance operations in Alberta and Northeastern BC.

The donation builds on almost two decades of support for STARS from the Forestry company.

In a release, West Fraser’s Alberta OSB General Manager Gord Weeber says the company is continuing its support of STARS in order to help meet the growing need for the Air Ambulance service throughout the region.

West Fraser owns an OSB plant south of Grande Prairie.

STARS Chief Fundraising and Brand Officer Terri Strunk says the commitment from West Fraser will play an important role in providing the equipment and training needed to continue to care for critically ill and injured patients.

STARS has carried out over 50,000 missions in Western Canada since 1985, including 1,677 flights in Alberta and B-C alone in the past year.
