Two new doctors practicing in Spirit River

Two new family doctors are now practicing out of the Central Peace Health Complex in Spirit River.

The recent arrival of Dr. Adefolake Olaniyan and Dr. Deanna Funk brings the number of full-time physicians practicing in that community to four.

Dr. Olaniyan obtained her medical degree and training in Nigeria, while Dr. Funk – who was born and raised in the Peace Country – earned her Doctor of Medicine degree in Calgary.

In a release, Spirit River Mayor Tammy Yaremko thanked local residents and community partners for their support in assisting with the recruitment of the two new physicians.
