Seismic activity felt across Northern Alberta

Earthquakes Canada recorded seismic activity in three different locations across Northwestern Alberta on Tuesday,

Two of the reports came from an area northeast of Reno, near Peace River.

The first earthquake, which was reported at around 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday, measured at a magnitude 5.2 on the richter scale.

A little over an hour later at 5:55 p.m., the same area recorded another tremor at a magnitude of 5.8. It was felt in parts of eastern BC, across northern Alberta, including as far east as Fort McMurray.

It is the third time in the past week that earthquake activity has been reported in the Reno area.

Earthquakes Canada also reported on their Twitter account that seismic activity at a magnitude of 4.6 was felt at around 5:56 p.m. in the Grande Cache area.

Then at 7:55 p.m., they reported seismic activity at a magnitude of 4.3 in the Grande Prairie region.

No exact locations were given for the activity near both Grande Cache and Grande Prairie.

There have been no reports of any damage as of yet.
