ASIRT take over investigation with officer involved shooting

On December 1, at around 1:23 p.m., Maskwacis RCMP received a call from a concerned resident saying that a male had a firearm and had been discharging it in the rural area.
Upon arrival, officers had a confrontation which resulted in an officer discharging their service pistol.
The suspect was injured and Mounties administered first aid.
Medical personnel was dispatched, and the 27-year-old resident of Maskwacis was taken by STARS to a hospital where has was last reported to be in a critical life-threatening condition.
